Mr Daniel Byles Exeter Eye Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

Mr Daniel Byles, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon will be providing an informal presentation on lens options for spectacle independence after cataract surgery.  There will be refreshments and a light supper.  Please note, the start time for these events will be 6.30pm, which is slightly earlier than previously.

This session will cover the various lens types and approaches to cataract and lens surgery aimed at reducing people’s dependence on having to wear glasses.  In particular, it will look at the evidence for the effectiveness of each approach and also the potential problems with each approach.  There will be a self-assessed quiz towards the end and plenty of opportunity to ask questions about each lens type.  The aim of the session is to gain a greater understanding of the options available to patients and an awareness that for many people subsequent correction with spectacles is the safest and best option.
