Mr Bowley’s specialisms:
Refractive lens exchange, including Toric and specialist extended depth of focus lenses
Treatments for age related macular degeneration
Treatments for retinal vein occlusions
Assessment and treatment of diabetic eye disease
Diagnosis and treatment of ocular inflammation
Mr Bowley initially trained as a Medicinal Chemist, graduating top of his year with first class honours at Nottingham Trent University, winning the departmental prize for Academic Achievement. During the third year of his degree, he worked for AstraZeneca in their cutting-edge drug development research facility.
Mr Bowley completed a Ph.D in organic chemistry and crystallography, prior to obtaining a place at medical school.
Mr Bowley graduated from The University of Nottingham’s accelerated graduate entry medical programme in 2012, and went on to work in Cambridgeshire and then completing ophthalmic specialist training in the Peninsula deanery.
Once ophthalmic specialist training was complete, Mr Bowley secured a fellowship position in Medical Retina and Uveitis at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Mr Bowley is the lead consultant for uveitis at The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust
Mr Bowley has a young family and lives in South Devon, where he enjoys the fantastic Devon countryside whenever time allows.

Mr Bowley and his fellow Ophthalmic Surgeons work very closely together to ensure all Exeter Eye patients have access to an experienced Consultant Eye Surgeon at all times.
